How should I be training to be a defensive back?

Defensive backs should train by practicing backpedaling drills. A defensive of back should also practice and train their body for vertical jumping as this is a critical element.

You should be practising your speed (running the 50 and 100 yard dash in particular), in addition to your footwork, and backpedalling. In addition, your tackling and covering receivers is crucial, as is your ability to catch (intercept) the football. Improving your upper and lower body strength is also very important.

The best way you could train, is to always make sure when u play that your up against good strikers. also being able to head the ball is very important.

Hip flexors are extremely important. Stretching that tendon in your hip will allow you to turn dangerous balls back up field or turn to mark a sprinting striker.
