If your daughter is a debutante herself, her dress should be a formal that is white (can have pearl or silver accents) and floor-length. However, if your daughter is attending a ball but is not one of the "debs" then she should wear a formal dress - preferably long - that is any color BUT white.

Debutante dresses look like wedding dresses, point blank period. They are typically long, poofy, and white, with a ballroom/ wedding dress feel to them. and you daughter must have the shoes to match and the gloves. Also she will need jewelry. Many girls wear pearls or diamonds to go long with the white.
