I would like to learn more about becoming a cruise director.

A cruise director's primary responsibility is the management of the ship's entertainment They manage the entertainers, handle the budgeting and billing of their staff, organize the shows, and develop new performances, often working directly with the entertainers and other staff such as lighting and sound technicians. They typically begin as entertainers or staff members and work their way up.
