Cardiac dysrhythmias can be caused by ischemia which is also a cause of a heart attack. However, ischemia is just one of several causes of rhythm problems and not all indicate a heart attack proclivity. They all indicate problems with the conduction system in the heart.

Cardiac dysrhythmias indicate that the heart is not beating how it should. They are not necessarily precursors to heart attacks, but can increase your risk for one.
