Newborn babies drink mothers breast milk or the formula recommended by the pediatrician. Newborn babies also drink purified water. Babies around the age of 6 months or so will begin drinking juice. When a baby reaches the age of 1 year, the doctor will change the baby to cow's milk.

It depends on what age. From birth until 4-5 months, they will drink only formula / breast milk. Once solid foods are introduced, the mother can introduce small amounts of juice. Many suggest watering that down. Really, only formula and juices are recommended for babies. Once they are 1 year old, they can usually drink whole milk as well.

Young babies do not need to actually drink all that much. All that you need to do is be sure that they get the breastmilk or formula that they need.

Until babies are at least one year old, they should only drink breast milk or formula. Around 6-8 months you may start giving baby sips of water also.
