There is a chance that your dog could have had suffered a stroke. Generally strokes tend to paralyze one side of the body. The feeling in that side may come back but you will know more if you have a vet examine your dog to see what the problem is.

Consult your vet immediately. Numbness is commonly caused by strokes, and may go away but is usually permanent. It could be a tumor or poison as well.

There are many reason's the dog's face could be numb. One could be nerve damage. Your best step if the face doesn't return to normal would be go see a vet. The problem could be life threatening. In humans it's apparently one sign of MS.

Your dog may have had a spinal injury causing nerve damage. It is important to take him/her to a vet to make sure it is okay. It is possible it had a stroke too.
