A lot of things could be causing a hesitation in your Toyota Celica. It could be something minor such as spark plugs, coils, it could be cold, clogged air flow/air filter, or spark plug wires. It also could be a clutch/flywheel issue, that's only if you had your clutch flywheel installed incorrectly

It is a common problem in these cars. Many times it is as simple as replacing the plugs and wires. Use only higher end plugs and wires because this problem can rear its head in the future. The best way to stay ontop of it is by maintaining those features.

Check your entire ignition system for problems. Make sure all your vacuum line are connected correctly on top of the engine and that there are not leak in your intake system. Also check your fuel system specifically the fuel pump.
