They may be unrelated. Burning urination can be a sign of several things -- notably, a yeast infection and a urinary tract infection. A yeast infection can be treated with over-the-counter products, but you should have your first diagnosed by a doctor. A urinary tract infection requires a doctor visit. While you're there, ask why your period is late.

Burning urination is a sign of a urinary tract infection and or a bladder infection which could in return result in your period being late.

It sounds like you have a Urinary Tract Infection. This UTI could be what is causing your period to be late. Whenever you have a big change in your life or when your body is altered by things like illnesses or infections. Go to the doctor and get medicine for the Urinary Tract Infection.

Most of the time this points towards a sexually transmitted disease. If you have not have not had sexual contact lately, it could be a bladder infection while the missed period could be from stress. You should go to your doctor to get checked out.

You might be pregnant, or you might have an STD or simply a pH mis-balance. Don't put off going to the gynecologist, or even just an urgent treatment clinic can help.
