Question by  Mike (43)

What could be wrong if here is no power to a GFCI plug?

The first thing that should be checked is to see if the gfci is tripped, if so reset. If that does not work there could be no power feeding the receptical, if there is power the gfci could be bad or on newer models could be wired backwards.

Try resetting the button. If that does not work you may have a circuit that has tripped in the electrical box.

the GFCI receptacle has been added into a three-wire circuit where the neutral is "shared". A GFCI receptacle will only work on two-wire circuits: one "Hot" and one "Neutral".
