What could be wrong, I have just purchased a new batter for my 1989 Cadillac Devil and it started three times and now will not start?

What else could be wrong with my car?

If you just purchased a new battery, double check that it is the correct one. Most likely your starter is bad.

Was the alternator tested? It could have started 3 times for you until the battery was drawn dead because the alternator was not charging the battery. Is the SES light on at all? A cam or crank position sensor can cause no start issues as well. Also do you have good fuel pressure? When was the last tune up?

It sounds like your alternator might be bad and not charging thew battery back up. Try checking the voltage while the car is running it should show 12+volts.

You could have a short in your electrical system, a new battery that is defective , or the alternator isn't recharging and the warning light isn't coming on.
