The tapping sound may be caused by several reasons. One reason may be caused by a pebble that has lodged itself between the threads of the tire, another could be a nail or screw that may have been run over. These are two common causes of tapping noises coming from a tire.

It could be a flap of rubber hanging off the tread. That is most commonly the problem. It could also be that there is a rock in the tread or in the tire itself. Someone could have accidently dropped one in there if you had the tires replaced. Check the tread and make sure there is no rocks in it.

There is probably something stuck in the tire of the car. It may or may not be a problem. If the tire has no leak, it probably isn't a problem. It could be just a rock stuck in your tire, if there is a leak it could be more serious, like a nail.

You've got something stuck in the tread of the tires. If the tire pressure hasn't lowered then it's probably a piece of gravel. Unfortunately, it could also be a nail or screw and if it comes out while driving at high speed you'll have a blow out. Check the tread.

The most common thing when you are hearing a tapping sound in the tire is that you have a rock stuck in the tread. You could have also picked something elso up in the tire also such as a screw or a nail. check all the way around the tire and you should see something.

The tapping sound in your tire could be caused by a rock in between the tire treads. Try to determine what tire the noise is coming from. Look closely between the tire treads, or use hands and feel in between the treads. You may have to move the vehicle forward or back to be able to check the whole tire.

If you're sure it is coming from your tire you need to take it into the shop ASAP as it could be a lose or torn belt. If this is the case the tire could shred or explode easily causing damage to your car or causing an accident.

It might be possible that you either have a large air bubble on the base or inside of your tire, or perhaps the last time the tire was patched a piece of rubber fell into the inside of the tire. Do a thorough check of the tire for punctures, if you see none i wouldn't worry about it.

I my opinion it could be a few things but I would first check to see if there is something stuck in the tire like a screw or a nail. if nothing is found then it could be a wheel bearing or maybe a internal wheel weight that came loose.

It is possible you could have something embedded in the tire that is not causing air to leak. The tire could be old and worn down, and or the tire could be misaligned on the wheel.

Is it a clicking sound while moving, that speeds up as you go faster, and vice versa? It might be a rock stuck in the tread that's clicking on the pavement. It could also be a worn out wheel bearing or CV axle.

It could be a flat tire, I would check that first because it's easiest. Just drive your car on a level road and while driving slowly, let the wheel go and if it tilts to the side, a wheel is flat! Also, it could be your axel.
