It could be as simple as a cavity on that side of your jaw. Or something as complicated as a pinched nerve in your spine. You should consult a doctor if it persists to make sure it isn't something major.

One possibility for this could be heart issues. The lower jaw can ache during a heart attack. Probably not the case here, if it happens more than once, but a doctor should be consulted. The other thing that could cause this is the tensing/grinding of the left teeth. This may be happening while you sleep.

This can be caused by tooth grinding at night, teeth clenching in the day, or a dental cavity that has become a jaw infection. See a dentist for evaluation.

Pain in the jaw and even in the neck area is usually related to tooth pain. Sometimes the root of the tooth is what is inflammed which causes all of the pain.

Pain in your jaw could be as simple as discomfort caused by a nerve in a damaged tooth or as serious as a heart attack symptom. Jaw pain is a recently recognized symptom of heart attack especially in women. Either way you should see your doctor to evaluate the source of the pain.

A possible diagnosis could be Tic Syndrome. Facial/Neck tics are quite common, and patients don't notice they are twitching/ticking, hence the word 'disorder'. As a Tourette's patient, i have had a neck twitch where i turned my head sharply to the right, (sometimes left) and if you think of the area w/the muscles, lower left jaw & neck.

The pain in this location is most likely caused by one of three things- strained neck muscle, tonsillitis, or one of several jaw conditions. You should see a doctor.

It could be your heart not getting or pumping your blood like it should through your body. Also it really could be a blockage in your arties.

It could be TMJ, which can easily be diagnosed by a doctor. You might also have an infection, especially if you have a swollen lymph node in you neck.

This could be caused by a pinched nerve in the neck or shoulder. There is also a possibility that it is related to artery blockage in the neck area and the blood is not flowing properly.
