The brake light might be coming on because the brake fluid in the car is low and needs topping up. Some cars have a warning if the brake pads are worn and need replacing. The battery light could be because the battery needs a charge or some batteries do have to have a top up of battery fluid.

Depending upon the model the brake light probably is an emergency brake issue. The plashing battery light probably means your alternator isn't working, check voltage at the battery with the car running look for thirteen or fourteen volts. A good charging system should out out that much. If you get less than 12 your alternator is probably shot.

There may be a short in your electrical system. If your car has all of the warnings that light up when you start your car, these systems can often become shorted out. Also you may be having break and battery problems. If no other lights are comming on it may simply mean you need to take your car in.

This is almost always caused by one of two things. One being a faulty fuse that has not quite blown completely. This is a simple fix for a handful of coins at your local auto parts store. The other is a loose battery lead. Remember that a car battery carries enough power to severely injure you. Always use caution.

It is the alternator. My guess is it is a Nissan. It is not the brakes. They flash together don't they? Again, bad alternator!
