It could be many possible things. Your cat could have gotten something in its eye and now its caught, or it could have left a scar. It could also be an allergic to something that got in its eye. You should take the cat to the vet because eye injuries can easily cause blindness.

It could be a sty, or an infection possibly caused by a scratch or debris that may be caught in your cat's eye. Allergies may also be a factor. If the bump persists for any more than a couple of days or is causing discomfort (i.e., rubbing or scratching at the eye), please call your veterinarian.

It could be the result of an allegy or injury. Cats sometimes develop herpes infections in and around the eye area. They can also get folliculitis, which is an ingrown hair.

It is likely that your cat is suffering from folliculitis if you notice a red bump on or near his eye. This condition should clear up eventually without any medical intervention.

It is very likely an infection, or he took a hit in the eye romping, but it sounds like something got in there. You can wait it out for 5-7 days, but then I would say go to the vet. It's not something you can treat, and may jeopardize his sight.

The bump could be caused by something hard that got in the eye while they were playing outside. It could be a piece of dirt that scrathced the eye.

"Cherry Eye", is a gland that protrudes over the third eyelid in a feline. This can cause heavy tearing and blinking.
