This can be caused by a lot of the same things that causes it in humans. The most common is sickness. Treat your dog well let it rest and if the symptons persist for more then a couple of days take it to a vet.

Swelling in the neck and/or face of the dog could indicate an allergy if accompanied by watery, reddish eyes. Take him to your vet to get checked to make sure.

Unfortunately, the most common cause of enlarged cervical lymph nodes is lymphoma, a type of cancer. Lymphoma can be treated with chemotherapy to an extent, but it is not a permanent cure. Steroids can als be used as a treatment, but the expected survival time is only about 30 days. Infection in the mouth or ears can also cause swelling.

Swollen lymph glands are usually caused by a staph infection or cancer,both should have a biopsy done by a vet immediately.Very serious red flag for trouble.

If a dog's gland's are swollen it could be a infection. Could even be a Simple ear infection.Dog's can get's flu's and virus's.Most time when lymph node's swell or show up as small bump's it's some sort of infection.If you have A vet take your dog to him to test for illness or a infection.
