Your probably not getting enough fiber in your diet and not drinking enough water to move the fiber. Try eating whole grains, and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.

This can be caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome, don't be concerned this is often temporary. However, this is often caused by infrequent movements, allowing stools to be "stored" farther up in the intestines. You should regulate your nutrition and check for other symptoms.

Barring a serious medical condition, skinny bowels movements are perhaps caused by not enough fiber or not enough water in a person's diet. Fiber, which can't be absorbed in the body, increases stool bulk, and is important for maintaining good digestive health. Drinking a lot of water is also important, since hydration can help prevent overly compacted and dry stools.

When the diameter of stool is smaller than normal it can point to a tumor somewhere in the bowel, which can be benign or a malign in nature, especially if accompanied by constipation and bloody stools. The growth decreases the width of the intestine, causing stool to become skinnier as it has to pass a narrower than normal passage.
