Enlarged red blood cells are called macrocytosis, this can be caused by a liver issue, vitamin deficiency, or by anemia or blood loss.

Macrocytosis may be cause by many factors including but not limited to vitamin B12 deficiency, medication side effect, folate deficiency, alcohol or liver disease. Treatment is based on the cause.
