What causes constant hiccups?

My hiccups have been going for hours and I don't know why

Hiccups are involuntary contractions of the diaphragm muscle. Hiccups that last longer than a few minutes could be caused by many medical conditions. Hiccups normally go away on their own.

Hiccups are caused by a difference in the air inside the lungs and diaphragm and the outside the body.Try holding your breath several times at intervals greater than that of the hiccups and you will note a change in their intensity and will eventually disappear.Do these breathing exercises at a count that you are comfortable.

Air and acid causes hiccups if you eat spicy foods and drink alcohol that can be a cause. Next time you have hiccups take a note of what you eat.
