There is no definite answer to this question. Unfortunately, noone knows for sure. There are a lot of different theorys however, such as vaccinations and possibly pesticides on fruits and vegetables that the person has eaten. There is still a lot that needs to be studied concerning autism. I know because my brother has it.

Unfortunately there is no single, definitive cause of autism we can point to. The difficulty in determining the cause has led many to believe that there are many different aspects of autism with different causes, and it is the confluence of these that results in autism as we know it.

I don't think anyone from what I have read has a definitive answer to this question but popular opinion points to these factors. Researchers believe it has a genetic base, some believe it is related to how the brain processes information, I believe it is connected to the chemicals that are present in our foods.

Right now, scientists don't know conclusively. There are theories - many scientists believe that genetics plays a big role in determining whether a child develops autism. Ultimately, further research is needed to find a definite cause.

They have been trying to study the exact cause of autism unsuccesfully for a long time now. It is still believed that autism is a genetic defect in the chromosomes of both parents.

The causes of autism are currently unknown. Any previous research showing causes of autism have since been refuted. There are still research being performed to find out the real causes of autism.
