Scorpions are nocturnal and usually hide during the day. They rarely attack human, and only one species in the United States can be lethal. To avoid stings, do not handle scorpions, and be careful with items left outside overnight.

First off, don't touch them. Their sting is poisonous and quicker than your reflexes. Second, they tend to hide in small corners and under places waiting for other bug victims.

Are you asking about pet scorpions or wild scorpions. If you have scorpions that come into your house, clean up your yard. If you have leaky faucets, fix them. Leave pet dishes empty at night. If you have ants or other pest, get rid of them. Don't leave clutter around the house. Scorpions need water, food and shelter. Cats help!
