All the information you could possibly need should be coming along with your first prescribed dosage of this medication. If you still have questions your pharmacist can answer them

Trileptal is most commonly used as an antiepileptic and as a mood stabilizer. Side effects that people may experience while on Trileptal include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting, headache, trouble sleeping, acne, dry mouth, or constipation, but these side effects are generally not experienced by most people. This medication can also decrease the effectiveness of some types of birth control pills.

Trileptal, the generic is Oxcarbazepine, is an anticonvulsant used in treating seizure disorders. It is a catagory "D" medication and should not be taken by women who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. As with all anitsiezure medications it should not be stopped cold turkey or without a physicians order.
