The female box turtle usually lays 3-8 elliptical eggs during the months of April and July. Box turtle eggs should never be shaken, rotated or turned. Ideal temperature for incubation is at about 80 degrees F and humidity around 80%. It normally takes about 50-90 for the eggs to hatch.

It's best to let box turtles live outdoors and choose their own locations for laying eggs. Make sure your fencing will contain babies.Remove the adults before the eggs hatch.
