The capital of Croatia is Zagreb. A lot of the historical sights have been destroyed during the Yugoslavian wars but still it is a beautiful city for a one day trip. A lot of tourists skip Zagreb and head straight to the nice beaches in e.g. Split.

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia. It is a major tourist spot. This city hosts many international events however I don't think there are any in August. Zagreb has museums, and lots of places to shop. In the city travel agents organize excursions for sightseeing arount the city of Zagreb.
