Hypernatremia means a high sodium (salt) level in your blood. The commonest cause is dehydration - when you exercise too much/drink very little water. There are other endocrinological causes too.

This occurs when you are dehydrated or have taken in less water than your body requires to keep a sodium balance. Without this electrolyte balance in your body you may develop symptoms of confusion, seizure or coma. This can be corrected with the help of your physician.

Hypernatremia refers to an increase in the sodium levels in your blood. A value of more than 150mEq/L could produce symptoms like lethargy and confusion. Dehydration could be a common cause but if symptoms persist,it will need further evaluation.

Hypernatermia is an elevated sodium level in the blood, which is more commonly known as dehydration. It can be caused by lack of fluid intake, excessive sweating, increased kidney activity or extremely watery bowel movements. There are some conditions that can lead to hypernatremia as well.
