Flank alopecia, or cyclic follicular dysplasia, is hair loss on an animal due to an abnormality in the structure of the pet's hair follicles. Usually alopecia is seasonal - the pet will lose hair in the spring and grow back in about six months. Bring your animal to the vet for proper diagnosis and treatment.

if your dog has this condition it's not really deadly for it. suposedly it means that your dog hasnt been getting enough sunlight. you should take your dog to the vet to see if it needs a melatonin supplement, and just make sure your dog gets out more often. even if its an 'indoor dog.'
