Diverticulitis is an intestinal condition whereby pouches of inflammed skin form in digestive track, most commonly the large intestine. Natural anti-oxidants and acids found in cranberries can reduce inflamation.

Any foods or drinks that contain fiber can help. The fiber aides in digestive function and increases dietary support. Fiber also helps to remove toxins from the body, preventing toxic build up that can lead to certain ailments and diseases. Cranberries as with other berries not only offers great fiber, but works well in the sweet tooth department.

I found no specific mention of cranberries and diverticulitis other than as an example of a clear liquid that you would need to be eating when you have active diverticulitis. When your infection is healed, you need plenty of fiber and liquids. But cranberries are a natural diuretic, so they might interfere with your need for liquids then.

I have heard that diverticulitis symptoms are eased by drinking cranberry JUICE. You want to avoid any fruits/vegetables that can get "hung-up" in the GI tract. Although cranberries appear "seedless" such as most fruits they are full of fiber(s. Free flow through GI is your goal.
