Composition shingle roofing are popular because they are quite inexpensive and number of options. They are quite flexible, fairly fire proof and weather resistant because of the asphalt coating. On the downside they are susceptible to algae growth that can wreck their appearance.

Composition roofing (shingles) has a core of either organic fiber mat or fiberglass. This makes it slightly flexible and also lighter. A good roof can last you up to 30 years - a minimum of 15 years I'd say. Check out warranty times etc when you start your roof.

The plants has to be kept in between the roofings. While painting and cleaning it has to be covered and taken care. the style depends on the house owners taste which will give gentle and good look.

There are 2 different types of composition shingles. One is double laminate and the other is triple laminate. The trilaminate usually has a better warranty and some opinions favor it to look better than the double laminate composition roofing. So other than the warranty it may not be worth the extra cost associated with buying triple over double.
