The Drum is the part that uses the high intensity light to make itself electrically conductive and makes the toner and paper adhere. It can be cleaned by brushing the surface with a Mylar Bar, which is usually in the printer and discharges the negative charge on the drum, removing toner and paper particles.

When cleaning a copier machine the last thing you check for needing cleaned is the copier drum. When you have to clean the copier drum you use isopropal alcohol.
