What can you tell me about Abraham Lincoln's hat?

Answer by  cathben (40)

Now located at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. He apparently used it to store & carry letters and notes. His hat size was 7 1/8.

I can tell you it was a black hat in what would be called a top hat design. I also know that it was made out of beaver skin which was considered very fashionable in that day.

Legendary. What else can I say? Whenever somebody wears that kind of hat, I remember Lincoln. It is like an icon itself.
