What can you tell me about a Katana motorcycle?

The katana motorcycles are a one of the first crotch rockets. Compared to today they are weak. But the engines are pretty tough and will run long with maintenance.

A Katana is a compromise between a sport bike and a standard bike. It looks like a sportbike but has a more conventional riding position. It still handles like a sportbike but with more road manners. The engine is tuned more for road ring but still has the ability to act like a sportbike when called upon.

They are a sport touring motorcycle. The suspension and motor is basically old gsxr type parts. The motors are oil cooled like the 80's and early 90's gsxr's. Performance is not comparable to a new 600cc sportbike. But, it is a good beginner bike or commuter or even everyday ride.

The original Suzuki Katana was around from 1979 - 1980. It was created by a firm in Bavarian called Target Design. A model was also released with this name in 2006. A lot of people like this bikes but they are not on par with today's s bikes.
