Most modern chimneys are just duct piping that will go from the heater exhaust to the roof and will be secured at points along the way.

Chimney installation is very difficult, and unless you are a home builder by profession then it is not recommended you try it. you will have to make sure that you get all measurements exact otherwise it can lead to some serious problems and potentially ruin your house. Contact a contractor to make sure that it is done properly.

Dont attempt to do it. But if you do The chimney has to extend 4ft above the roof withen 10 feet of the stack.
