What can you do about unethical businesses? Is there somewhere to report them?

Consumers can report unethical businesses to the Federal Trade Commission without disclosing your identity or risking legal actions from the firms directly. After completing one report there, you can report the firm to the Better Business Bureau if the company is accredited by them or not which ensures other customers are aware of their practices.

First try to speak with the manager of the business you're having a problem with. If they are a chain, then report your issue to their corporate headquarters. Finally, if nothing's done get in touch with the Better Business Bureau in your area.

There are a number of consumer advocacy associations nationwide. First you should consult your local Better Business Bureau. If that does not work, contact your local government.

There's quite a few things you can do about unethical businesses. You can typically use WOT (Web of Trust) and BBB Online to report and rate businesses and comment on their practices. Another involves using google to write reviews about unethical businesses and their practices. If the businesses are doing something illegal, you can typically sue.
