The first thing you should absolutely do is take your dog to the vet. There are many causes of breathing problems. Some are very minor but some can be life threatening. Without going to the vet it is impossible to tell what is wrong or take care of your dog.

Surgery is most often required for dogs with severe breathing problems, otherwise a humidifier will do wonders many dogs. Another thing is to make sure he doesn't get too hot.
