Stopping home power surges is easy - in fact, using grounding power strips can be enough to stop them. If that doesn't work, get an electrician to install grounded plugs everywhere. This should be sufficient to stop annoying and possibly damaging power surges.

While it is virtually impossible to eliminate all power surges they can be drastically reduced by having a power conditioner installed in your home.

I would imagine you could use a un-interruptable power supply. This will work like a giant surge protector and maintain a constant voltage if it surges.

Many of the mainstream service panel manufacturers (E. G. Cutler Hammer, GE, Siemens, etc. ) make whole house surge suppressors. These can be installed near the main electrical panel to prevent surges.

There are instruments called stabilizers, inverters, UPS (Uninterrupted power supply) and other devices which have a common purpose - to smooth out fluctuations in power supply.
