There are no effective home remedies for tapeworms. There are medicines sold over the counter at pet stores and animal feed and supply stores.

The majority of "home remedies" are either ineffective or unsafe for animals. Your best bet would be to purchase a dewormer from your local pet store, which is much less expensive then a vet visit. Since tapeworms are associated with flea infestation, it's important to make sure to use some type of flea prevention and avoid feeding it raw meat.

The most commonly used medicine is paraziquantel. Home remedy would be sprinkling garlic powder in his food or try crushed pumkin seed shell one and half table spoon for 4 days.

The best thing to give him or her is liquid wormer. A home remedy would be to give him or her some grass like product. But make sure you don't give the dog any garlic or fruit. Garlic and fruit have a lot of acid in it which is bad for the dog.

Diatomaceous earth can be purchased at garden shops or hardware stores, and can be digested in small quantities, removing any parasites that are living in the body.

Some people say that garlic works to kill tapeworms, but there has been a lot of discussion as to whether garlic is harmful to dogs, so be careful.
