Check the engine oil level by pulling the oil dip stick out and checking the oil level. If the oil level is low, then add more oil. This should stop the light flickering.

Light flickering comes from non-constant air drafts as the flame is constantly being disrupted by uneven air flow. Try using a higher glass shield on the light to guard the flame.

It could be two different reasons. One check to make sure you have oil with the dipstick. Two, it could be a loose wire. Check under the dash at the light and repair or it is at the oil level sensor in the engine block.

If you are using a less quality oil the flickering will take place. Use a better quality oil and the nick should be also in good quality. If you take care of these things then the flickering will automatically stop. Do not keep the lamp in an open place.

There are many causes for an oil light to flicker. One such cause could be a faulty sensor. You may also have a failing oil pump. You may also have an oil passage that has restricted flow. It would be good to test the oil pressure first.
