If you have an infection in your mouth, it needs to be treated with antibiotics. Contact your dentist and ask if they can see you or if you should see your physician. Avoid chewing harsh foods, stick to soft foods that are not hot until the condition heals. Try to avoid chewing in the infected area.

Go back to the dentist. In the meantime, try gargling with salt water to keep it clean, or hydrogen peroxide. (Don't swallow! )

Try gargling with some salt water or antiseptic mouthwash, and remember to flush the area after eating. You might also call your dentist or endodontist to speak to them; after I had my wisdom teeth removed I was given a prescription for amoxocillin, just in case. If it gets worse, you will have to go back to see them.
