It matters on the severity. If it is mild taking a few ibuprofen can help. If it is more severe a doctor may put you on medication to control it

This is something that you should discuss with your doctor. There are many varieties of birth control and some offer relief from or lessened cramping caused by your menstral cycle. Otherwise, ibuprophen and a heating pad applied to the lower back can offer some relief to the immediate pain and discomfort.

If you have cramping after your period on a regular monthly basis then you will need to consult with a doctor to rule out diseases or virus that can cause the cramping. Stress, endometrocis and STD's could be some of the reasons for the cramping. And it could not be related to your period at all.

If the cramping is mild and not too bothersome you may want to dry asprin. Asprin thins the blood out which will ease up the cramping in your reproductive organs. If it's bad cramping you should see a doctor, maybe birth control could help lessen the cramps.
