Lesions on your kidneys can be cancerous and indicative of kidney cancer, but they can also be non-cancerous abnormal tissue growth. Chronic infections can cause physical damage and scarring to the organ, and this type of damage can be described as a lesion. Similarly, lesions of this type can be a result of surgical procedures involving the kidneys.

A kidney lesion is actually a cyst that is full of fluid. They are usually nothing to be concerned about and won't really cause any adverse affects.
