Polka Dot Syndrome. It is a form of pre-mentrual accumulation of capillaries beneath the skin around the groin area. This is a result of hormonal flushing.

Natural spotting can occur regularly during ovulation. Also, a couple of days before a period it is not unusual to have spotting. Your body is getting ready for your period.

It is a sign of breakthrough bleeding which may mean that you are not ovulating properly. You should discuss this with your gynocologist to get a better diagnosis. They can run tests (like bloodwork) to figure out what is going on.

Spotting prior to a period can be caused by many things including implantation spotting, changes in your hormones or cyst in your uterus that rupture. If it continues for more than one or two months you should contact your doctor.
