First, soak the clothing in a solution of one cup baking soda to one half gallon of water (use enough to cover the clothing). You can do this in the washer by starting a cycle then adding the baking soda as it fills with water. After an hour, pour in a couple of cups of vinegar and wash.

A hot water wash with baking soda and a dry in the line will take smells off clothing for good.

Try washing the offending clothes in hot water, but instead of detergent, add two cups of vinegar. When the load finishes, wash them again with your regular detergent.

If the clothes are washable, then wash them adding half a cup of baking soda to the wash water. Then if possible air dry outside. This combination was worked well.
