Coughing, sneezing and nasal discharge could be signs of kennel cough or canine influenza. While kennel cough sometimes can resolve itself given time, only a vet can determine the real cause of the illness. Antibiotics may be necessary.

Viral infections need to run their course, but your vet can give you antibiotics. These won't cure the virus, but they can stave off complications.

For these infections, it is best to see a veterinarian for a diagnosis and treatment options. While viruses cannot be treated with antibiotics, a vet will be able to tell you what problems to look for and how to make sure your dog is getting well, as well as how to prevent recurrence.

In order to treat these types of infections the dog must be taken to the veterinarian. Depending on the severity of the infection, an antibiotic will be prescribed.

Animals have same kind of diseases and treatment with dosages changed. Keep the dog seperate. Take the advice of a vet. Give a anti-virol shot to give a quick recovery. Do not play or move very close to the dog as this is a condageious one. Do not compel it to take food. Give only hot water.

Minimize exposure to unknown dogs. Stay out of dog parks where there is no way to insure the health of the pets there. Always stay current on your pets vaccines.
