I think that consumerism has gone too far in America - people seem to think luxuries are rights and go too far to get them. It has contributed significantly to the current economic problems, and the credit card has FAR too much power over people's lives. People do not stop to think "do I NEED this?" anymore.

Credit card debt is ruining this country. The credit cards have made it too easy to purchase things we can not afford.
