If you are vested and thus own them, you can use a stock broker to sell them. You can also buy the stock yourself and then sell those shares. The stock options can also be sold to other coworkers and other investors. However, exercising these options does make the value of the options taxable.

Usually, employers restrict the sale of stock options by an employee. The options almost always carry a vesting period that must elapse before they can be exercised or sold. In addition, certain insiders will have to report any stock sales to the SEC. You will need to talk to your company's financial personnel for details that apply to you.

You may have to wait until your options are vested before you can sell them. You can sell them to another employee, a manager, back to the company, or look for an open market buyer.
