What are womens' roles in today's society?

In today's society I believe a woman's role has changed from what it once was. In the past a woman was meant to cook clean and care for the kids. In today's society a woman might be the one who works while the husband stays home.

Women are now expected to do a lot more, such as work outside the home. However, when push comes to shove, they're still expected to clean and cook.
