Weasel wording is a method of speaking that allows you to express no actual opinion while the listener believes you have answered them in a reasonable manner. This sort of wording is what allows a newspaper to almost libel someone, and allows a person to never commit to an action.

Weasel words are used to imply something without specifically stating it, allowing the speaker to avoid committing themselves to a strong position or statement ("weaseling out"); they can also be used to soften a strong statment. Using language in this way is often frowned upon, however.
