A Wax worm is The Larva of a wax Moth. They are mostly used in pet food making since they are high in fat and very easy to breed. Wax Worms look like white caterpillars with black tipped feet that live in bee colonies eating bee's wax. They also live off of cocoons, pollen and shreds of bee skin.

Waxworms that result from the wax moth (Pyralidae) are caterpillars. The caterpillars have white bodies, black feet, and tiny, black heads. They live in bee nest and eat pollen and chew beeswax. That is how they got their name. Wax worms are used in pet food, due to the high content of fat, and are also used as fish bait.

You will have to get a book on them, or go online to find out what they are. The book should tell you though.
