The top two selling spices in the world would have to be pepper and mustard. Since we live in the United States, thousands of people eat hotdogs with mustard in the streets of New York and at baseball games. Pepper is one of the most common spices used in recipes also.
Americans may think the answer is Salt and Pepper but most likely it is a spice used in asian or hispanic cooking. My guess would be Chili powder and black pepper... or cumin... or curry powder... or heck, maybe it is salt and pepper. Ok, so my final answer is salt and pepper.
