What are the theories on how the world will end?

I don't think the earth is going anywhere, life could cease to exist due to any of the reasons above, but the planet will still be here.

In terms of world ending catastrophes the biggest would be a direct impact by a planet sized asteroid. There is also the potential for a nearby star to go supernova. Potentially life ending would be a supervolcanic eruption like the Yellowstone caldera.

Well, there are plenty of theories in the world about its end, but the theory that is common here in india is 2012 theory which says that in 2012 the whole world will come to an end. It may be due to earth quack or may be some natural calamity, the world will end.

I'm sure there are many, many theories. Two include a comet or some other object from space will hit and blow up the Earth. Others revolve around man-made causes, like a nuclear war.
