Many problems that affect the kidney present with the symptom of lower flank pain. You can also have changes in your urine including blood. You could also experience fatigue due to kidney disease.

Symptoms of kidney disease include protein or blood in urine, abnormal blood urea nitrogen and creatinine blood tests, high blood pressure,and edema (swelling) in feet, lower legs, face and hands. Some other warning signs of kidney disease include a change in urination habits, blood in urine, a change in the color of your urine, and anemia.

You might have to get up to urinate often at night and the urine may be bubbly and cloudy. You may urinate more or less than normal for you and the urine may be dark or contain blood.

The main symptoms associated with kidney disease are left or right flank pain, it could be both sides if both kidneys are involved, along with ogliuria (scanty urine output).
